Reserving the Chapel for a Student Organization Event

Situated in the heart of UGA's Old North Campus, the
University Chapel is a well known campus landmark.
Originally built in 1832, the Chapel was once used primarily
for daily religious service, which all students were required to
attend. Seating 433, it continues to be used today as a venue
for lectures, campus meetings, and wedding ceremonies.

Student organizations can request to use the chapel by submitting a request form to Campus Reservations. Please read the following information before proceeding to the request form. You are responsible for knowing and informing members of your organization of all facility policies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If your request is approved a confirmation will be e-mailed to you. Please remember your reservation is not final and your event location should not be publicized until you have received a confirmation from Campus Reservations.

Reservation requests must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the event. Requests submitted after this time period may be denied.

CHAPEL USAGE POLICIES

1. Absolutely no food or drink is to be brought into the Chapel.
2. Nothing can be attached to the walls, doors, windows, ceilings, floors, or furnishings for any reason.
3. No candles may be used inside the Chapel. If use of candles occurs the event may be shut down.
4. University Events are subject to a labor charge of $10.00 an hour with a four-hour minimum charge.
5. All events must conclude by 11:00PM on any night.
6. An extra fee may be assessed if the scheduled time limit is exceeded, or if there is damage to the facility.
7. Direct all questions about lights, sound, and equipment to the Performing Arts Center representative on duty at the Chapel. Thisrepresentative will be responsible for making sure all AV equipment is properly turned on and connected for use by the renting organization. The renting organization will be responsible for operating the equipment. If any problems arise with the projection equipment,for event occurring before 5 pm, the representative will attempt to contact the appropriate office for assistance. No projector support will beavailable after 5 pm 4. All events must conclude by 11:00PM on any night. .
8. Events not cancelled with Campus Reservations will still be subject to the full labor charge. If the event involves the charging of admission or donation collection, the full rental rate agreed upon will also be charged to the renting organization.
